| Dr.
Juan C. Perez is primarily employed as a bilingual, Senior Mental Health Psychologist
and Outpatient Services Manager for the Downtown Office of the Los Angeles Department
of Mental Health. Dr. Perez is currently working as part time staff member of
the Persona family. Dr. Perez possesses a Psy.D. (Doctorate of Clinical Psychology).
Dr. Pérez has
extensive experiencing in working with adults suffering from neurological disorders
and diseases, as well as other forms of severe traumatic injuries (i.e. burns,
chronic pain, and amputations). He has worked extensively with patient's who Post-traumatic
Stress Disorder, particularly with the Spanish speaking population. One particular
area in which Dr. Pérez has recently has received extensive training and
experience is in the area of substance abuse treatment with concurrent mental
or physical disorders (Dual Diagnosis Certification). In addition to his work
at Persona, Dr. Pérez has been working extensively in the "skid-row"
area of Downtown Los Angeles, applying his multitude of skills in assisting this
challenging and needy population. He is the co-founder of the first dual diagnosis
treatment programs in the area. In
addition, Dr. Pérez he has worked at numerous inpatient and outpatient
medical, psychiatric and drug rehabilitation programs. Education: 1980
